PESTO GENOVESE BASIL PDO

 

The “Pesto alla Genovese“, is obtained from the processing of the “Basilico Genovese” PDO, with other ingredients, such as pine nuts, cashews or garlic.

The “Basilico Genovese” PDO is characterized by its medium-small size leaves, having an oval and convex shape and a soft green color. The height of the plant varies from medium to very high. The perfume is particularly delicate, free of hints of mint.

Production can take place in a protected environment or in the open field. The production area of the “Basilico Genovese” PDO concerns the Tyrrhenian side of the Liguria region.
